The maiden victor of Nigeria’s first music game show, ‘Star The Winner Is’ Michael Achu was officially crowned on Friday, 10th October 2014 as he was presented the keys to a brand new 2014 Volkswagen CC as well as a whooping sum of Ten Million Naira.
The exquisite event, which held at the Nigerian Breweries Bar, Iganmu had in attendance the likes of Uti Nwachukwu, host of the game show, Bryan Okwara, Yaw, Dotun Kayode, Temi and Mannie of cool FM, Destiny Amaka, OluwaseunP amongst and others.
Contestants of Star The Winner Is as well as their friends and family all gathered to witness Micheal’s glorious crowning while amidst smiles and exhilaration he expressed his happiness.
“This is totally a dream come true for me and my family. I have tried so many times to succeed in my music career but failed, and I am very grateful that at last my persistence and perseverance has paid off, I cant thank Star Lager and Nigerian Breweries enough,” said an elated Michael.
Apart from Michael’s Ten Million Naira and brand new car prize, he also earned a recording contract with Universal records. Speaking on this achievement, Michael said, “When I was informed about the Universal Records deal, I had to pinch myself severally because I thought I was dreaming. My dreams have indeed come true”, said an overtly excited Michael.
Marketing Manager, Alcoholic drinks, Nigerian Breweries, Tokunbo Adodo expressed his delight in the climax of the show, he said, “ Before the show premiered for the first time this season, we promised reality TV lovers nationwide a nail-biting, nerve wrecking and exciting 3months and I am sure that everyone can attest to the fact that we made good the promise”.

Adodo added.
The well-attended event also displayed features of the TV game show as two invited guests, Kenny Blaize and Belinda battled for Fifty Thousand Naira with Belinda emerging winner of the duel, thereby going home with the cash prize.
Philip Otuya, Brenda Adigwe, Happiness Itua, Job Idoko, Naomi Mac, Roxy Oni, Jackson Okoro, Nebo Chidinma, Rhema Osbourne all semifinalists were present as well as other contestants from the life changing music game show.
Even with the fact that the maiden season of Star The Winner Is ended on a very high note, viewers nationwide are already clamoring for a second season and even though producers have not confirmed the fact, from all indications, Star The Winner Is, season two may happen sometime next year.
