Bella Naija entertainment editor, Onos Ariyo, is in the Official Naija Top 10 studio with MTV Base VJ Ehis(@SpecialSlim), this week to discuss the latest movers and shakers in the contemporary music scene.
Among the things they’ll be discussing is Banky W’s continued dominance of the number one slot as the “Yes/No” vocalist enters his second week at the top of the chart.
Closing in on Banky W is Phyno feat. Olamide with “Ghostmode” which moves from number three to number two position after a slow but steady climb up the chart. Other climbers this week include Tiwa Savage’s “Without My Heart” – up one place to number five and “Asiko” from Darey feat. Ice Prince & Jozi, now settled in at the number six position.
After two weeks at number 10, Davido’s “Gobe” also shows positive form, heading upwards and gaining two places to end the week at number 8.
Lynxxx’s “Ezioku” stays firm at number 4 but former number 1, 2Face’s “Ihe Neme”, drops one position to number 3, and “Bad Boy P” byL.O.S. slips back to number 9.
The eighth episode of the Official Naija Top 10 premiered on the MTV Base block on NTA on Friday 26 April, and can be seen on MTV Base(DStv Channel 322) on Tuesday 30 April @22.00 WAT, on AIT on Tuesday 30 April @ 21.30 WAT, and on STV Thursday 2 May @ 18.00 WAT. Next week’s chart will be released on Friday 3 May on NTA @ 23.30 WAT.
Every week the Official Naija Top 10 is put together by an elite panel of judges comprising Nigerian broadcasters, music specialists and tastemakers, working with MTV Base to pick the winners and losers in the week’s chart. Joining Onos Ariyo on the panel are DJ Humility, DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Xclusive (Cool FM), Big Time (Rhythm FM), DJ Case (The Beat FM), Toolz (The Beat FM) and Osagie Alonge(Nigerian Entertainment Today).
