Foremost advertising practitioner and chairman of Troyka Holdings, Mr. Biodun Shobanjo has been nominated to lead marketing discourse at the forthcoming investiture ceremony of the new president of national institute of marketing of Nigeria, (NIMN) Mr. Tony Agenmonmen. Themed “Marketing Nigeria”, the lecture will hold at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos Friday, 17th February, 2017, heralding a new dawn at the institute. It is planned to attract dignitaries across the marketing communications industry.

A statement by the chairman of the NIMN Inauguration committee, Mr. Tokunbo Modupe hinted that the selection of Mr. Biodun Shobanjo as guest speaker of the occasion was reached after exhaustive deliberations amongst committee members who consider him worthy and deserving to lead the conversation in view of his pedigree and career attainment.

In his words, “we collectively agreed to select Mr. Biodun Shobanjo to lead this all important conversation at this point in time because he has seen it all. Our guest speaker is a man of enviable track record in career attainment and professional excellence. He is a marketing and advertising man per excellence whose footprints are visible in almost all sectors of the marketing practice”.

Shobanjo, the enterprising Nigerian businessman and billionaire adman is unarguably the most respected professional in the marketing communications industry for a number of reasons that include integrity and professionalism. His job experience as a young professional started with the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission and Grant advertising where he cut his early teeth in advertising before he went to set up his own agency, Insight communications, arguably one of the best advertising agencies in Nigeria till date.

Since the birth of Insight, his entrepreneurial foray has seen him set up a number of line extension agencies and companies among which include The Quadrant company, Hot sauce, All Seasons Medicom, Leo Burnet, Media Perspectives, Halogen security among others. Shobanjo is a professional par excellence who has won numerous awards both within and outside the country including, Marketing Edge Brand Personality of the year, Sun Man of The Year and many more.

Other highlights of the occasion include conferment of fellows and Honorary Fellowship of the Institute as well as inaugural ball. it promises to be a signature event for the re-energised institute.

NIMN had recently, in Ibadan, elected a new President, Tony Agenmonmen in a contest that saw huge turnout of members from different parts of the country participating in the electoral process. Agenmonmen who had since assumed his new role is expected to embark on sweeping reforms that would restore integrity and dignity to the marketing institute and marketing profession.
