The Nigerian Marketing Awards, an upscale ceremony designed to raise the profile of the marketing industry in Nigeria, is now accepting applicants. 

The organisers announced on Monday that applications for the maiden edition of the awards ceremony will be received from August 15 till September 30.

The awards, which will be judged by independent panellists, feature a total of 31 categories including Brand of the Year, Campaign of the Year, Best Innovation of the Year, PR Agency of the Year, Fintech Company of the Year, Advertising Agency of the Year, and more.

Applicants interested can make their submissions for over 30 categories online through Nigerian Marketing Awards website at www.nma-ng.com. The eligibility period for entries of the awards’ 2022 edition covers work created in the last 12 months, from August 15, 2021, to August 14, 2022. 

The Nigerian Marketing Awards will be presented at the ceremony slated to hold at the prestigious Eko Hotels Convention Centre on November 11. The night is expected to feature major stalwarts of the marketing community in Nigeria including CEOs, Marketing Directors, Advertising Agencies Directors, and Marketing and Brand Managers. 

Set up in partnership with companies like Nigerian Breweries Plc, Stanbic IBTC, MTN, and Nigeria Advertising Services (NAS), the Nigerian Marketing Awards is designed to motivate and celebrate the creativity of individuals and teams in marketing.

According to the organisers, the awards are “designed to raise the profile of marketing awards in Nigeria to international standards in terms of scope, scale, grandeur, transparency, and overall credibility.” The initiative is expected to grow into being the biggest and most credible in the sector, as organisers revealed that they are currently in the process of obtaining international certification for the Awards.

The Convener of the Awards, Anthony Agenmonmen, (fnimn), who is a former Marketing Manager at Nigerian Breweries Plc. and former President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), said the NMA was set up to “stimulate innovation” and raise the overall quality of marketing planning and execution in Nigeria. 

“Globally, marketing awards are very powerful ways of celebrating the creativity and effectiveness of hardworking individuals and teams in marketing. They are designed to motivate and drive more business while celebrating great work,” he said.

The judging panel, known as the Awards Decision Council, comprises seasoned marketing professionals, accomplished experts in the marketing field and leaders in the industry.
