BlackHouse Media, Africa’s leading public relations and communications company has joined the league of respected international organisations demonstrating a commitment to the objective evaluation of PR services.

With the announcement today of its membership of the International Association for the measurement and evaluation of communication (AMEC), BHM has become one of the first public relations firms in Africa to become an official member of AMEC. In the execution of its services, the PR company has demonstrated its commitment to implementing global standards of communication as championed by AMEC.

AMEC is the world’s largest media intelligence and insights professional organisation, that represents organisations and practitioners who provide media evaluation and communication research.

Currently, AMEC has more than 160 members in 86 countries across the world including The World Bank, United Nations, Golin, Ketchum, Hill+Knowlton, WE Communications and Omnicom. AMEC deepens its course on promoting professionalism by forming working groups from different countries to work together on new initiatives, reinforced by its vibrant chapters in the Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa and North America.

The global institution has consistently mobilised the global PR industry to move from AVE to its novel measurement framework known as AMEC Integrated Evaluation Framework. This framework is a planning tool that helps PR professionals to plan and measure communications with credibility and evaluate the success of their work and its value.

AMEC’s Integrated Evaluation Framework highlights how to ‘operationalise’ the Barcelona Principles, which is a set of seven guidelines created by the public relations industry to measure the efficiency of PR campaigns and guide PR officials in the creation of credible campaigns.

“We will work to answer the demand of membership and continue to develop regional resources, so members have tools to demonstrate the added value of their efforts,” says Johna Burke, AMEC’s Global Managing Director.

Like AMEC, BHM has over time dedicated its resources to growing and educating the market for the use of research, measurement and analytics in communication.

While reflecting on the new AMEC membership, BHM founder, Ayeni Adekunle pledges the organisation’s commitment to best global PR practices.

“Our journey towards creating a better-educated market in the PR industry has led us thus far. Like AMEC, we are global in our thinking and inclusive in our practice. With a growing number of publications and services based on informed analysis of the PR industry, we have been able to contribute our token to building the knowledge economy for the PR practice.

Over the years, BHM has been outstanding in measurement and reporting in the PR industry – a fact that is linked with its undisputed dominance in the industry. Recently, it won the 2022 SABRE Award for Superior Achievement in Measurement and Evaluation for its ‘MTN Public Offer’ campaign.
