BHM, in collaboration with Allison, has announced Kayode Akintemi, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of News Central TV, as a speaker at Africa Breakfast Convos (ABC) 2026 in New York. The fourth edition of the event will take place on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the World Trade Center on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81). His participation highlights the role of media in contextualising key economic developments, including Ghana’s GH¢110.3 billion in Q1 2026 exports and East Africa’s digital economy expansion.
Akintemi has built a career spanning broadcasting, media management, television presentation, and project management. He began his broadcasting career in the 1980s and went on to work with the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation and Ogun State Television.
He later served as General Manager of Channels Television, where he hosted programmes and moderated presidential media discussions involving former Nigerian presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari. In December 2023, he became Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of News Central TV.
News Central TV covers politics, business and social issues across Africa, with a focus on reporting and analysis that brings African perspectives to audiences across the continent and beyond.
At ABC 2026, Akintemi will join Akunna Cook, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Next Narrative Africa on a panel focused on Africa’s next growth chapter. Journalist and broadcaster Afua Hagan will steer the discussion on the capital, policies and partnerships needed to support Africa’s economic growth.
