The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) held its anticipated Annual Conference in 2024, a monumental event that not only showcased the latest advancements in engineering but also celebrated the remarkable contributions of engineers across Nigeria. 

 

Themed Sustainable Engineering Solutions to Food Security and Climate Change, the five-day event saw a gathering of top engineers, industry leaders, and political figures creating a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and inspiration.

 

This year’s event was particularly significant as it featured a special recognition of practising engineers, engineering-based organisations, and NSE partners who have made exceptional contributions to the field, both in terms of innovation and social impact. The recognition underscores the critical role that engineers play in the development of Nigeria’s infrastructure, technology, and economy.

 

In recognition of his contributions to the Nigerian engineering industry, the Chief Executive Officer, Coleman Wires and Cables, George Onafowokan, was awarded the sole honorary Fellowship Award.

 

The society also awarded its key partners for this year’s event, including Lee Engineering and Construction Limited, Coleman Wires and Cables, Total Energies, Gramen Petroserve, Energy Commission of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Regional Development, Rain Oil Group, Hensek Integrated Services Limited, Shell Petroleum Development Company, Kenol Nigeria Limited, Protogy Global Services Limited, Bonny NLNG, Seplat Energy Plc, Pana Holdings, and Megawatts Nigeria Limited.

 

Speaking about the awards, the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Margaret Oguntala FNSE, said, “It is with great pride and immense honour that I stand before you today at this landmark event, the 2024 Nigerian Society of Engineers Annual Conference.
